Believing that every student should have access to a college education, the Foundation was established in 1966 for the purpose of raising funds for university scholarships and other campus needs.
When UW-Waukesha opened in 1966, “The Friends of UW-Waukesha,” 501c3 was incorporated to support the campus where public funds were not available. As a result of the merger between UW-Milwaukee and UW-Waukesha and the subsequent name change of the Waukesha campus, the Foundation is now known as UWM at Waukesha Foundation.
The Foundation awards nearly $40,000 in scholarships annually to new and continuing students through scholarship endowments. We celebrate them at the Honors & Achievement Recognition event in October. We also provide scholarships for high school juniors & seniors participating in UWM at Waukesha's Early College Academy.
